Key Responsibilities:
Credit Assessment and Decision Support
  • Conduct independent assessments of corporate and institutional credit proposals.
  • Review borrowers’ financial performance, business models, repayment capacity and key risk factors.
  • Evaluate proposed lending structures, facility terms, collateral packages, covenants and risk-mitigation measures.
  • Formulate clear credit recommendations and support approval decisions within the bank’s established governance framework.
  • Challenge transaction assumptions constructively while maintaining a balanced understanding of commercial objectives.
  • Review credit renewals, amendments, exceptions and higher-risk transactions.
  • Ensure credit submissions are well supported, clearly documented and appropriately structured.
  • Monitor the quality and performance of the corporate credit portfolio.
  • Identify emerging risks, sector concentrations, deteriorating credits and potential early-warning signals.
  • Review internal credit ratings, watchlist classifications and recommended risk actions.
  • Work with business and risk stakeholders on remedial strategies for vulnerable or stressed exposures.
  • Provide portfolio-level insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Support periodic portfolio reviews, stress assessments and risk reporting.
Credit Governance
  • Promote disciplined and consistent credit underwriting standards across the business.
  • Ensure credit activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and internal risk policies.
  • Review policy exceptions and recommend appropriate conditions, controls or escalation.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of credit policies, approval processes, rating methodologies and monitoring practices.
  • Support regulatory reviews, internal audits and other credit-related governance exercises.
  • Participate in strategic risk initiatives and management projects when required.
Leadership and Stakeholder Management
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to credit approvers and analysts.
  • Strengthen the team’s capabilities in financial analysis, transaction structuring and credit judgement.
  • Work closely with Relationship Managers and product teams while maintaining independent risk oversight.
  • Communicate complex credit issues clearly to senior management and regional stakeholders.
  • Foster a constructive risk culture that supports sound and sustainable business growth.
Candidate Profile
  • Around 20 years of relevant experience across corporate credit risk, institutional lending, commercial banking or related areas.
  • Significant experience in independent credit assessment, approval, underwriting or portfolio risk management.
  • Strong understanding of corporate lending products, transaction structures, collateral, covenants and credit-risk mitigation.
  • Advanced financial-statement analysis and financial-modelling capabilities.
  • Sound knowledge of internal credit-rating methodologies, regulatory expectations and banking risk-management practices.
  • Proven ability to evaluate complex or sizeable corporate and institutional exposures.
  • Able to provide commercially balanced but independent risk perspectives to business stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring or developing credit analysts and junior approvers.
  • Strong written communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese is required to communicate effectively with regional stakeholders and review relevant business materials.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline. Relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
