Job summary

SGX Group in Singapore is hiring a Core AI Engineer to join the AI & Automation Engineering team. You will help build the enterprise knowledge graph and governance layer that underpins every SGX AI use case, from data ingestion to secure retrieval and access.

The role demands strong Python and TypeScript coding, experience with LLMs and vector retrieval, knowledge graphs, API design, and secure, private-cloud delivery. This is a Singapore-based on-site position.

Qualifications

• Proven software engineering experience, including system design, code review, testing practices, and building reliable services.
• Strong hands-on coding in Python and TypeScript, with comfort in a polyglot stack (Rust in parts of the platform).
• Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs: RAG and KAG pipelines, embeddings, and semantic retrieval.
• Experience modelling connected data: knowledge graphs, ontology design, and graph query languages like Cypher.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and performance, plus vector search (pgvector).
• Experience designing and maintaining APIs and shared services used by other teams.
• Strong cryptography skills: AES-256-GCM, envelope encryption, KEK/DEK, and secure key management.
• Ability to threat-model data paths and ensure privacy in regulated environments.
• Experience with data governance, least-privilege access, and audit logging in regulated industries.
• Proven ability to make architectural decisions and defend them in reviews.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the core knowledge graph and governance layer, including ingestion, metadata, and retrieval.
• Develop shared platform features: APIs, tool registries, and reusable AI components.
• Ensure permission-aware retrieval, label-sensitive enforcement, and traceability for sources cited.
• Engineer encryption, key management, and secure data handling across the platform.
• Define evaluation benchmarks, quality metrics, and reproducible AI performance claims.
• Design observability, monitoring, and cost governance for AI services.
• Define APIs and architecture patterns; drive reviews through Architecture Forum and InfoSec Release Readiness.
• Turn recurring business patterns into platform capabilities and support consuming teams.
