Job summary

ClickHouse seeks a senior performance engineer to shape a cloud-native ClickHouse Cloud platform. You will benchmark, triage, and optimize large distributed systems, collaborating with core, cloud, and security teams to improve performance and resilience across services.

You bring 6+ years in distributed systems, strong programming in Go/C/C++/Java, and deep cloud infra experience with Kubernetes and EC2. Remote-friendly, cross-country collaboration, and fast-paced delivery are expected.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software development building and operating scalable distributed systems.
• Go, C/C++, Java or similar languages experience.
• Experience with concurrency and distributed architectures.
• Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes.
• Led large technical projects across multiple engineers.
• Expertise with a public cloud provider and infrastructure as a service (EC2).
• Excellent communication and teamwork across engineering groups.
• Strong problem solving and production debugging skills.
• Passion for efficiency, availability, scalability and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Benchmark system performance and perform capacity sizing and optimization.
• Troubleshoot and triage application/server errors and logs.
• Suggest configuration tuning to remove performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with core/ cloud security teams to improve performance.
• Plan and drive chaos initiatives across Engineering teams.
• Develop and manage tools for chaos experiments and measurement.
• Work with large scale distributed systems and understand resilience.
• Extend backend to support Chaos Engineering techniques.
• Observe running systems and identify disruptive optimizations.
