Job summary

ByteDance seeks a software engineer to join its Cloud Native-Observability Team in Singapore. You will develop cloud-native time-series observability solutions, covering cluster lifecycle, testing frameworks, and quality/ stability for observability services.

The role requires 5 years in large-scale production environments, strong Go/Java skills, and experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Spring, and observability tools like Prometheus or Grafana. Knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in software engineering for large-scale production environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficient in Go/Java (at least one), with experience in microservice frameworks such as gin/kitex/Spring.
• In-depth understanding of Observability; familiar with at least one tool (Prometheus/Grafana/ELK Stack/Jaeger, etc.). Large-scale data experience preferred.
• Skilled in server-side multi-threading/high concurrency; good coding practices (clean code, unit testing).

Responsibilities

• Deliver and optimize user-oriented operation products & SRE-oriented O&M products for ByteDance and Volcengine's cloud-native time-series database.
• Develop cloud-native intelligent management platform for observability time-series engine, covering cluster lifecycle (creation, configuration, HA, disaster recovery, backup, audit, etc.).
• Build and optimize automated testing frameworks (function, performance, stability) to support observability business.
• Drive quality engineering and stability construction for observability services.
