Job summary

OCBC Bank Singapore is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement cloud-native data pipelines and lakehouse solutions. You will work with Spark, PySpark, Iceberg, and open data catalogue frameworks to enable real-time analytics and scalable data processing.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, strong Python and SQL skills, and a passion for governance, automation, and modern data platforms in a banking environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of data engineering experience in cloud environments.
• Hands-on with Spark, PySpark, Iceberg, and real-time streaming.
• Experience with data governance and metadata/catalogue frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Strong SQL skills for transformations and analytics.
• Knowledge of Open Data Catalogue/OpenMetadata/DataHub.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data pipelines using cloud-native services.
• Implement Lakehouse solutions with Apache Iceberg and metadata tooling.
• Develop real-time streaming pipelines and structured streaming logic.
• Migrate SQL workloads to cloud-native architectures and optimize transforms.
• Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to deliver robust solutions.
• Ensure data quality, monitoring, and governance practices.
