Boku in Singapore is hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join a small autonomous team building a new suite of payment products. You will design and deliver production-grade services for payment initiation, payouts, card processing, FX, reconciliation and settlement.

You will work with Java and Spring Boot, REST, gRPC, and event-driven APIs; focus on reliability, observability, CI/CD, Docker and EKS.

Formación

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building distributed, high-throughput payment or financial services.
• Understanding of payment architecture: idempotency, delivery guarantees, reconciliation and settlement.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes or EKS and CI/CD tooling.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS-aligned system design and secure coding.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build high-throughput, low-latency services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop REST, gRPC and event-driven APIs for payment initiation, callbacks and settlement.
• Build resilient services with idempotency, retries, circuit breakers and graceful degradation.
• Develop payout, card processing, FX, treasury orchestration and cash forecasting capabilities.
• Design data access/storage with relational and NoSQL databases; profile and optimize performance.
• Contribute to secure system design with PCI DSS controls and audit logging.
• Establish delivery foundations including CI/CD, Docker and EKS; ensure code quality and security.
