Job summary

foodpanda, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Foundation Tribe in Singapore. You will stress scale, reliability, and performance while shaping architecture across an international team.

You will work with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern CI/CD pipelines. The role requires strong English communication and mentoring capabilities within a fast-growing global company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (MBA a plus).
• 7–9 years building complex, distributed backend systems.
• Proficiency in Golang is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of architectural principles (SOLID, Hexagonal).
• Hands-on with AWS, GCP for scalable, resilient solutions.
• Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and management.
• CI/CD pipelines experience is a plus.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana.
• Relational databases and key-value stores (Redis, Elasticsearch).
• Understanding of SDLC with automated testing (unit/integration/functional).
• Excellent English communication across international teams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex performance challenges across software and infrastructure.
• Contribute to system architecture design to address current needs and future scalability.
• Drive code quality via standards, reviews, and automated testing.
• Manage project priorities and deliverables within autonomous teams.
• Collaborate in cross-functional, international teams to deliver holistic solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge and best practices.
