Job summary

foodpanda in Singapore seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen our Foundation Tribe within an international, performance-driven team. You will design scalable backend systems, drive reliability, and lead architecture discussions, mentoring juniors and collaborating with product management.

Required: 7–9 years in distributed backend, strong Golang, cloud (AWS/GCP), Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and English communication.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
7–9 years of experience building complex, distributed backend systems.
Proficiency in Golang is mandatory.
Strong understanding of architecture principles (SOLID, Hexagonal).
Hands-on cloud experience (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience designing scalable CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Experience with Prometheus/Grafana for monitoring and logging.
Relational databases and Redis/Elasticsearch knowledge.
Excellent English communication, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges across software and infrastructure layers.
Contribute to system architecture design for scalability and future technologies.
Drive code quality through reviews and automated testing frameworks.
Manage project priorities and deliverables within autonomous teams.
Work in an international cross-functional team to deliver holistic solutions.
Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge to uplift team performance.
Collaborate with Product management to deliver maximum value.
