Job summary

foodpanda is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Foundation Tribe in Singapore. You will support a regional Product team as part of an international, highly skilled group, focusing on scalable backend systems and cloud-native architectures.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive design decisions, and partner with Product management to deliver value. Strong Golang, cloud, and CI/CD experience are essential in a fast-growing global company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; MBA is a plus.
• 7–9 years of experience building distributed backend systems with microservices.
• Proficiency in Golang is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of SOLID, Hexagonal Architecture, and DDD.
• Hands-on with AWS and GCP for scalable and resilient solutions.
• Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment.
• Experience designing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring.
• Knowledge of relational databases and Redis/Elasticsearch.
• Excellent English communication across international teams.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges across software and infra layers.
• Contribute to system architecture design for scalability and future needs.
• Enforce code quality with reviews and automated testing frameworks.
• Manage project priorities and deliverables within autonomous teams.
• Work in a cross-functional international team to deliver holistic solutions.
• Participate in architectural discussions and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with Product management to deliver value for stakeholders.
• Apply cloud, CI/CD, testing and validation in projects.
• Implement design patterns for resiliency, autoscaling, monitoring and alerts.
• Mentor junior engineers and uplift team performance through collaboration.
