Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a skilled Backend Engineer for its Liquidity Platform in Singapore. You will design, build, and operate backend services powering global liquidity management, safeguarding, and cash data workflows.

The role requires 5+ years of production backend experience, strong JVM knowledge, and a solid grasp of REST/gRPC, databases, and observability. Based in Singapore, work will be on-site with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend experience in production systems.
• Proficiency in JVM languages (Kotlin/Java) or equivalent.
• Experience with REST and/or gRPC APIs and relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Strong testing, CI/CD, and observability practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own backend services for global liquidity platform.
• Develop systems ensuring funds availability across entities and currencies.
• Build scalable liquidity forecasting and cash positioning platforms.
• Collaborate with Product, Treasury, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and on-call rotations.
