Job summary

Airwallex, Singapore-based fintech, seeks a senior software engineer to design and implement backend services for card issuing, transaction processing, and settlement. You will deliver scalable, reliable systems and collaborate with cross-region teams while mentoring peers and improving code quality.

Required 5+ years in software engineering, strong Java/Kotlin/Go/Python, and hands-on cloud experience with GCP or AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development experience using Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python.
• Experience building and operating distributed systems in production.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services for card issuing, transaction processing, and settlement.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code with strong maintainability and operability.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs used by internal teams and external customers.
• Mentor peers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Contribute to system reliability through monitoring, alerting, and on-call participation.
