Job summary

Activate Interactive Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of a mission-critical Regulatory Licensing Platform. You will architect, develop, and operate backend systems in a lean, high-impact team within a highly restricted Government Cloud environment.

You will own the full lifecycle from design to production, with a focus on secure data handling, automated deployment, day-2 operations, and reliability across multi-zone infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 6/7+ years of Backend Engineering experience building production-grade systems
• Proven independence in delivering complex backend projects
• Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience on AWS (VPC, IAM, secure data patterns)
• Mastery of Node.js/TypeScript and PostgreSQL database design
• Strong Linux administration and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborative and team-focused mindset

Responsibilities

• Own backend systems from development to production and day-2 operations
• Develop resilient APIs using Node.js/TypeScript and PostgreSQL
• Maintain self-hosted components (EC2, EKS) and automate patching and security
• Manage cloud networking (VPC), IAM and secure communication patterns
• Integrate third-party and central services with reliable handshakes
• Design robust observability with monitoring, tracing, and alerting
• Use IaC tools (Terraform, AWS CDK) for auditable, reproducible resources
