Job summary

LTA Land Transport Authority in Singapore is seeking a Software System Engineer (Back Office System) to help modernise the AFC backend. You will design, migrate, build, test, deploy and support secure applications on AWS in GCC, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

You will analyse requirements, develop Java applications using Spring, and contribute to documentation, monitoring and performance improvements while working in a regulated government cloud setting.

Qualifications

• Three years of software development experience including one full SDLC.
• Hands-on development of Java applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Experience with AWS services such as Amazon EKS, DynamoDB and RDS.
• Knowledge of modern Java (21 or later).
• Containerised applications, Kubernetes and GitLab CI/CD.
• PostgreSQL, database transactions and batch processing.
• MQTT and messaging platforms like Solace and IBM MQ.
• Experience with GCC or other regulated cloud environments is a plus.
• Experience with AFC, high-volume transactions or mission-critical systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools is desirable.
• Good written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements, design, develop, test and maintain applications.
• Prepare and maintain software lifecycle deliverables: requirements, architecture, design docs, interfaces, source code, test specs, operations manuals.
• Troubleshoot production and test-environment issues and improve application quality and performance.
• Collaborate with developers, users and testers to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
