Job summary

Standard Chartered Singapore is seeking a detail-focused Credit Operations professional to monitor client positions and ensure compliance with credit terms and local policies. You will work closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, and Operations to manage limit and collateral matters, supporting timely utilisation of credit facilities.

The role requires 5+ years in Private Banking Credit Operations, strong documentation knowledge, and excellent communication across teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking or Finance or equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience in Private Banking Credit Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of credit monitoring and risk controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure credit documentation is fit for purpose and compliant with Group Policy & Standards.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations throughout documentation review.
  • Meet service level agreements for documentation reviews and timelines.
  • Identify risks or red flags and escalate to senior management as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement and projects in credit documentation processes and systems.

The incumbent is expected to engage closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, and Operations to address credit monitoring matters while upholding robust control and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure instructions received from Private Bank clients are fit for purpose and in compliance with Group Policy & Standards.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations throughout the documentation review process.
  • Ensure documentation reviews are conducted within acceptable timelines and service level agreements
  • Identify risks / red flags in the documents received and highlight to senior management for assessment and reporting where required.
  • Identify areas of improvement in the process and highlight to senior management for assessment.
  • In depth knowledge of Private Bank Credit documentation requirement, timelines and stakeholders involved in the documentation process.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Awareness and understanding of outsourced activities from the Credit documentation team and the critical data points & key controls that need to be reviewed.
  • Support the continuous improvement and projects of credit documentation processes and systems.
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Banking or Finance.
  • 5+years experience in Private Banking Credit Operations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of credit monitoring with meticulous attention to detail and a high level of professionalism in client-centric environments.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple cases and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and control.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with relationship managers, credit officers, legal, operations and where appropriate external counsel.
