Job summary

Singapore Telecommunications Limited is seeking an experienced TV Platform Operations Engineer to manage on‑premises and cloud TV platforms, ensuring uptime, reliability and service continuity. You will monitor performance, participate in incident management, troubleshoot with logs and probes, execute changes per MOPs, and coordinate with OSS/BSS, network, and security teams.

The role requires IPTV/OTT knowledge, Linux/Unix skills, scripting, and strong analytical and communication abilities,

Responsibilities

• Operate and support TV platform across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Monitor performance, reliability and service availability.
• Handle incident management, fault isolation and restoration.
• Troubleshoot using logs, probes, scripts and diagnostics; coordinate with vendors.
• Execute and validate changes per MOPs prior to production.
• Prepare documentation and SIT/UAT for changes and rollouts.
• Coordinate testing with OSS/BSS, network, security and cross-functional teams.
• Maintain standby duty rosters and cross-team coverage.

Make an impact by:

• Responsible for the operations, maintenance and support of the TV platform across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring service availability and operational stability.
• Monitor the performance, reliability and availability of TV platforms and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure continuous service availability.
• Support incident management activities, including fault isolation, troubleshooting and service restoration.
• Troubleshoot system issues using logs, syslogs, probes, scripts and diagnostic tools, and coordinate with vendors for escalation and resolution.
• Execute and validate change activities in accordance with approved Methods of Procedure (MOPs) prior to production implementation.
• Prepare and maintain MOPs, operational documentation and implementation records for change activities.
• Coordinate and perform vendor testing, System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements and service rollouts.
• Perform shift duties, remote standby support and after-hours fault response when required.
• Prepare and maintain standby duty rosters to ensure adequate operational support coverage.
• Coordinate and assign resources for planned maintenance and change implementation activities.
• Maintain operational dashboards, reporting tools and service monitoring platforms to support operational visibility and performance tracking.
• Coordinate with OSS/BSS, network, security and other cross-functional teams to support testing, implementation and operational activities.

Skills for success:

• Knowledge of IPTV, OTT and video streaming technologies, including live and on-demand content delivery architectures.
• Understanding of video delivery platforms, including Origins, CDN, streaming protocols and content distribution workflows.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and hybrid cloud architectures, including operational support of cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems, virtualization and containerized environments.
• Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI technologies, including the use of AI-powered tools to support operational analysis, automation and productivity improvement.
• Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, multicast, load balancing and content delivery networks.
• Experience with monitoring, observability and troubleshooting tools, including log analysis, metrics, alerting and performance monitoring platforms.
• Knowledge of incident, problem and change management processes within a 24x7 operational environment.
• Familiarity with telecom OSS/BSS systems and their integration with service platforms.
• Experience with automation, scripting and operational reporting tools such as Power BI, Python, Shell or similar technologies.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management and vendor coordination skills.
