Job summary

Qualifications

  • Possess a good degree in Business, Accountancy, Economics, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in Finance.
  • Experience in hospital operations, healthcare financing, costing, or pricing is advantageous.
  • Strong logical, analytical, and process flow skills.
  • Ability to translate clinical and operational requirements into financial implications.
  • Excellent project management skills and proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clinical, nursing, allied health, pharmacy, operation and project teams in hospital planning activities with financial analysis.
  • Participate in workflow redesign initiatives to improve efficiency and financial sustainability.
  • Support budgeting for the new Hospital and manage operating and capital budgets.
  • Perform financial assessments of capex investments, equipment purchases, and contracts.
  • Develop and implement finance processes, policies, and governance for the hospital.
  • Drive finance systems design, automation, and business partnering with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Hospital Development and Financial Planning
  • Collaborate with clinical, nursing, allied health, pharmacy, operation and project teams in hospital planning activities. Provide financial analysis and insight to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Participate in workflow redesign initiatives to improve operational efficiency, productivity and financial sustainability.
  • Support the planning, monitoring and management of operating and capital budgets for the new Hospital.
  • Partner stakeholders to perform financial assessments of major capex investment, equipment purchase and service contracts to ensure procurement decisions are aligned with operational requirements, affordability and long-term financial viability.
  • Manage the development and implementation of finance processes, policies and procedures, providing hands-on guidance and oversight to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Nest at other institutions to observe and learn best practices in process implementation, business support, partnering and system, informing the setup and operationalization of the new hospital
Business Partnering and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as a finance business partner to clinical, operational and project teams. Provide timely financial advice and insights to departments and functions.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare clusters, government agencies, and consultants where required.
  • Key communication liaison among the various stakeholders, management, and external stakeholders to facilitate necessary discussions to allow for the successful set-up of the Hospital.
Costing and Pricing Framework Development
  • Develop the Hospital’s costing framework in alignment with National Costing Guideline and organizational objectives.
  • Support the initial design and implementation of hospital costing methodologies. Work closely with clinical and operational stakeholders to ensure costing methodologies accurately reflect resource consumption and care models.
  • Establish mechanisms to capture, monitor and analyze service line and patient-level costs.
  • Participate in initial pricing set-up for hospital services and programmes.
  • Conduct benchmarking and financial analysis to support pricing decisions.
Finance Systems and Automation
  • Support the design, implementation, and operationalization of finance-related IT systems for the new Hospital.
  • Work with users, IT and system vendors to define business requirements and ensure system configurations meet operational needs
  • Participate in user acceptance testing, change management and implementation activities.
  • Drive innovation and process improvement initiatives by leveraging automation tools, AI and system capabilities to support the future-ready hospital operating model.
Requirements
  • Possess a good degree in Business, Accountancy, Economics, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in Finance.
  • Experience in hospital operations, healthcare financing, costing, or pricing will be highly advantageous.
  • Strong logical, analytical, and process flow skills.
  • Ability to translate clinical and operational requirements into financial implications and viable recommendations.
  • Excellent project management skills in driving and supporting major projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel, Macros, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proven capabilities with finance systems will be an added advantage.
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, inquisitive, and meticulous, with a high degree of initiative and independence.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership potential and resilience to grow with the organization.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
