Job summary

Phoenix Contact in Singapore seeks an Automation Support Specialist focused on Japan, with opportunities to expand into other product lines. You will become the expert on automation solutions, collaborating with sales to conduct customer visits, site assessments, and technical presentations on installation and operation of electrical products.

You will design product-mix solutions, provide timely technical support to regional subsidiaries, and deliver multi-tier trainings.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Automation or related field).
• Conversational proficiency in Japanese is required to support regional collaboration.
• Experience with industrial networking and/or automation (PLC, I/O’s).
• Strong passion for automation systems and electrical products.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Proficient with Windows-based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Problem solver, customer-driven and results-oriented.
• Organized, persistent, proactive and a good team player.
• Willing to travel with short notice (e.g., training, trade shows).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with regional sales subsidiaries and assist with generating sales & marketing enablement collaterals including demos, white papers, short videos etc.
• Design and develop Phoenix Contact product-mix solutions and systems with market-oriented value propositions.
• Provide timely accurate application and technical support to the region sales subsidiaries and customers for product related topics.
• Conduct multi-tier product and solution training to different audience segments.
• Support marketing activities in seminars, trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events, including design/revamping displays.
• Work effectively as part of a team to achieve objectives and share knowledge and skills.

Reporting to the Application Center Manager, you will focus providing Automation Support for Japan, with future opportunities to expand into other Phoenix Contact product lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To be the expert on Automation related products and solutions
• Collaborate with Sales or Business Development Team to conduct joint customer visits, site assessments, and technical presentations on the selection, installation, configuration, and operation of our electrical products.
• Work closely with regional sales subsidiaries and assist with generating sales & marketing enablement collaterals not limited to demos, white papers, short videos etc.
• Design and Develop Phoenix Contact product-mix solutions and systems with market-orientated value propositions to address market and customers’ demands, needs and pain points.
• Provide timely accurate application and technical support to the region sales subsidiaries and customers for product related topics.
• Conduct multi-tier product and solution training to different audience segments.
• Support marketing activities in seminars, trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events, including designing and/or revamping of products static and active displays.
• Work effectively as part of a team to achieve individual, team and departmental objectives, sharing knowledge and skills as appropriate.

REQUIREMENT:

• Minimum Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Automation or related field).
• Conversational proficiency in Japanese is required to support regional collaboration.
• Experience and understanding of industrial networking (e.g., managed switches, VPN, Wi-Fi, interface converters) and/or automation (PLC, control, I/O’s)
• Strong passion for automation systems and electrical products.
• Good presentation skill and fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Proficient with Windows based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Problem solver, customer-driven and results-oriented.
• Organized, persistent, proactive and must be a good team player.
• Willing to travel within short notice e.g. Training, Trade shows, etc.
