Job summary

NETS is seeking an experienced Application Developer to design and deliver scalable, secure cloud-native solutions. You will contribute to architecture discussions, implement critical components, and support delivery teams through the development lifecycle.

The role requires strong Java (8+), Spring, AWS, and DevSecOps experience, with a focus on secure coding, CI/CD, and performance tuning in financial services environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in building and managing critical applications in financial services, payments, or other regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture and design discussions, ensuring alignment with established enterprise architecture principles, security standards, and technology roadmaps.
• Design and develop scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native applications to support business-critical workloads.
• Provide hands-on development expertise for complex components, integrations, and critical technical deliverables.
• Support modernization initiatives, including application refactoring, cloud adoption, API development, and platform enhancements.
• Follow and promote engineering standards, design patterns, reusable components, and development best practices.
• Participate in the end-to-end design and implementation of enterprise applications and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with Information Security and Risk teams to incorporate secure coding practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Assist in identifying vulnerabilities, implementing remediation actions, and ensuring secure software delivery.
• Adopt DevSecOps practices and contribute to CI/CD processes.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation workflows.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to problem management activities.
• Provide support for production systems, ensuring reliability and adherence to service-level requirements.
• Explore and apply AI technologies to improve code quality, efficiency, and development speed.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance engineering effectiveness.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, operations teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Communicate technical progress, issues, and risks effectively within the team and to relevant stakeholders.
• Balance feature delivery, technical debt, and operational considerations during development.

Job description

The Technology Division at BCS is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and support of BCS applications such as FAST, Giro, CTS, PayNow, SGQR, TFR, eGIRO and its critical infrastructure, ensuring its operational stability, regulatory compliance, and service reliability.

The Application Delivery (‘Change’) department is regarded as BCS’ domain experts, overseeing the enhancement, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of applications, ensuring its functionality, security, and performance in alignment with set standards.

The Application Developer will be responsible for designing and delivering scalable, secure, and business-aligned technology solutions. The scope includes architecture planning, solution design, prototyping, and supporting delivery teams throughout the development lifecycle. The successful candidate will need to have a strong background in Java technologies and AWS, with expertise in application architecture and development, SQL query fine tuning, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture and design discussions, ensuring alignment with established enterprise architecture principles, security standards, and technology roadmaps.

Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong experience in Java (8+) and Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring AI).
• Proven expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful API development, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch) and API Gateway.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployments in mission-critical environments.
• Solid background in CI/CD, DevOps/DevSecOps, automated testing (JUnit, Karate), and release automation.
• Strong knowledge of application security, OWASP standards, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with ELK stack, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with ReactJS/Angular, Oracle, JBoss, Tomcat, and Linux environments.
• Exposure to AI-powered development tools and applying AI for code, testing, and automation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
