Job summary

Coda is hiring a Senior Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer to own high-impact commercial analytics across the business. You will partner with Commercial, Account Management, Marketing, Pay/Risk, and Finance to turn raw data into trusted metrics and decision-ready dashboards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data analytics roles with a focus on analytics engineering or BI.
• Strong SQL skills with large, complex datasets.
• Experience in payments/fintech/eCommerce or similar fast-growth domains.
• Ability to translate business questions into structured analysis.
• Ability to build dashboards in Tableau, Looker, QuickSight, Power BI, or equivalent.
• Production dbt experience with models, tests, and documentation.
• Familiarity with LookML, dbt semantic layer, or related governance concepts.
• Knowledge of AWS data tools (Athena, S3, Glue, Redshift, etc.).
• Python for analysis with pandas and numpy.
• Strong understanding of TPV, revenue, margin, and related metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Independent, proactive, and able to move quickly in changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics for Commercial and Account Management use cases, including publisher performance, portfolio health, margin trends, pricing impact, product performance, and opportunity sizing.
• Support Commercial, Pay/Risk, Marketing, and Finance teams with fast, high-quality analysis that helps diagnose trends, quantify impact, and drive business action.
• Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analysis, clear recommendations, and decision-ready outputs.
• Build and maintain trusted analytical datasets in dbt, helping define shared business logic and improve the quality of Coda’s Gold layer.
• Help codify key metrics through semantic-layer tools such as LookML, the dbt semantic layer, or similar governed BI patterns.
• Build dashboards in Tableau, Looker, and QuickSight that business teams actually use to monitor performance, identify issues, and make decisions.
• Improve data quality and trust through dbt tests, freshness checks, anomaly detection, documentation, and root-cause analysis.
