Job summary

QBE Insurance Group in Singapore seeks a financial analyst to perform budgeting and variance analysis across business lines, produce management information, and translate data into actionable insights for senior management. You will monitor trends, collaborate with stakeholders, and support decision-making with visually intuitive reports.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an accounting/planning and analysis role.
• Exposure to insurance business and regional roles.
• Experience in Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Professional experience with management information (MI) systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of competitor analysis reporting and align with senior management requirements.
• Assist in producing timely, accurate, and insightful performance reports for senior management and business partners.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the organisation.
• Develop standardised management reports for performance analysis against key profit drivers.
• Prepare and maintain budgeting and forecasting tools for assigned business lines.
• Analyse business results to identify future needs and propose process improvements for efficiency.
• Provide financial data analysis and best practice solutions to support decision-making.
• Liaise with divisional teams to ensure timely and consistent data provision.
• Support ongoing development of the management information system.
• Demonstrate cultural expectations and contribute to a positive work environment.

Primary Details

Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeThe purpose of this role is to perform financial and budget analyses for assigned business lines, including evaluating financial data, performing trend analysis, and providing insights on budget variances. Additionally, the role will support reporting and analysis of competitor results, monitor competitor strategy, and provide value-adding reports to senior management. Strong analytical skills are essential to provide insights to support decision-making and effectively present performance data in a visually intuitive format.

The Opportunity

This involves evaluating complex financial data, collaborating with key stakeholders, and influencing investment decision-making. Additionally, the role is responsible for producing accurate and timely management information, including complex financial performance analysis and translating data into decision-relevant insights to ensure alignment with business objectives.

About You

• Significant experience in an accounting/planning and analysis role, with preference for MI system implementation.
• Exposure to insurance business and regional roles.
• Experience in the insurance industry, with exposure to AIFRS being advantageous.
• Preference for work experience in consulting and/or financial planning & analysis, as well as in a shared service environment.
• Professional experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) within a finance role, with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Proven experience of consistent and constructive people management capabilities.

Qualifications

Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Certificates as an accountant.
