Job summary

SIMTech in Singapore's Optics and Imaging Systems (OIS) Group seeks a Research Engineer to advance AI-based image recognition for industrial use across sectors including semiconductors and biomedical manufacturing.

You will develop AI and CV modules, apply OO programming and best practices, and integrate models with imaging systems. Collaboration with researchers and engineers is essential, with experience in PyTorch/TensorFlow, OpenCV, and DevOps tools highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python; experience with CUDA, JS, HTML or C# is advantageous.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture, and best practices.
• Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning concepts, especially CNNs.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX or similar frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI-based image recognition and computer vision modules for industrial inspection.
• Apply OO programming and software engineering practices to ensure maintainable, modular code.
• Develop and integrate AI models for object detection, segmentation, classification, and defect detection.
• Work with PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, TensorRT, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, software developers, and industry partners.
