Job summary

InternSG is seeking a senior backend engineer to join an early-stage product focused on AI-enabled workflows. You will build and operate the Python backend, design serverless infrastructure on AWS Lambda, and integrate LLMs into real customer experiences.

You'll pair with the founder to make pragmatic architectural decisions, shipping code rapidly while maintaining reliability. The role is hands-on in a fast-changing environment and focuses on production-ready systems and scalable data flows.

Qualifications

• Strong Python experience in a production setting.
• Experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Experience with AWS Lambda or similar serverless infra.
• Practical experience integrating LLMs or AI APIs into real products.
• Experience designing APIs and event-driven or asynchronous workflows.
• Good understanding of databases, testing, deployment, and observability.
• Ability to make sound architecture decisions without over-engineering.
• Ability to explain technical choices and trade-offs clearly.
• Comfortable working hands-on in an early-stage, fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve Freeflo’s Python backend.
• Design and operate AWS Lambda and serverless infrastructure.
• Integrate LLMs and external AI services into production workflows.
• Build WhatsApp-based booking, payment, and customer-service flows.
• Design APIs, data models, webhooks, and asynchronous processes.
• Improve testing, monitoring, observability, security, and deployment.
• Diagnose production problems and improve system reliability.
• Make pragmatic architecture decisions for an evolving product.
• Pair with the founder on implementation, product decisions, and trade-offs.
• Establish efficient Codex and AI-assisted development workflows.
