Job summary

Land Transport Authority in Singapore is seeking a Senior Developer, AI Applications to help reimagine OneMotoring as an intelligent Digital Shopfront powered by AI.

You will design and build AI features, implement secure API connections, embeddings and semantic search, and ensure reliable production-grade solutions.

The role demands 5+ years as backend or full-stack engineer, hands-on LLMs, Python, security focus, and ability to work with legacy systems and enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer.
• 2+ years building applied AI features used by real users.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, including prompt design, semantic search, function calling, and structured output parsing.
• Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation concepts and when to use them.
• AI safety and reliability as core engineering work, including validation and guardrails.
• Proficiency in Python and working in a full-stack environment with modern frontend frameworks.
• Ability to work with middleware and API gateways to wrap legacy systems for modern use.
• Solid application security foundations (OWASP, zero-trust).
• Ability to translate rough product ideas into robust technical designs.
• Experience in Singapore public sector or regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build secure integrations and API connections to data vaults and legacy systems.
• Embed AI in applications with AI-assisted components and configurable services.
• Design retrieval pipelines, embeddings and semantic search for AI features.
• Review vendor AI approaches, guardrails, and PRs for security and accuracy.
• Ensure production reliability with monitoring and graceful fallbacks.
• Collaborate across platform teams to fit AI features into the architecture.
• Own features end-to-end and refine AI pipelines based on usage data.
