Job summary

AMD is seeking engineers for failure analysis of advanced microprocessors and graphics processors built on 3nm FINFET and below technologies. Responsibilities include nano-probing, electrical characterization, AFM, EM, and material analysis to drive quality and yield improvements.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in semiconductor wafer processing and materials characterization, with the ability to troubleshoot tools and interact with vendors.

Qualifications

• Fundamental understanding of device physics.
• Strong background in semiconductor wafer processing and materials characterization.
• Ability to perform basic tool troubleshooting and interact with vendors to resolve tool issues.
• Experience in fabless semiconductor and wafer fabs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis on 3nm FINFET and below processors/GPUs.
• Conduct transistor nano-probing, electrical characterization (AFM), Electron Microscopy and materials analysis.
• Prepare site-specific TEM lamellae using focused ion beam (FIB) techniques.
• Perform plasma FIB sample preparation and yield failure analysis on advanced products.
• Follow safety, EHS, procedures and quality requirements, especially with high-energy beam systems during night shifts.
• Support automation initiatives to improve sample-preparation throughput and turnaround time.
