Job description

About Maersk

Maersk is a global leader in integrated logistics and has been industry pioneers for over a century. Through innovation and transformation we are redefining the boundaries of possibility, continuously setting new standards for efficiency, sustainability, and excellence.

Security Supervisor Role

The Security Supervisor is responsible for leading day‑to‑day security operations at the Distribution Centre, ensuring a safe, compliant, and secure environment for people, assets, cargo, and critical operations. This role oversees the performance of contracted security personnel, manages the command‑and‑control functions onsite, and ensures adherence to Maersk Global Security requirements and recognised industry standards (e.g., TAPA, C‑TPAT).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Security Operations & Command Centre Leadership
    • Lead and supervise all on‑site security operations. Monitor screening, access control, CCTV, electronic security systems, and physical security infrastructure, ensuring full operational readiness.
    • Align with security vendor on security priorities and incident learnings.
    • Oversee perimeter control in accordance with Maersk and regulatory requirements.
  2. Vendor Performance Management
    • Coordinate and validate manpower deployment to ensure full shift coverage and operational continuity.
    • Verify competency, performance and provide coaching or corrective guidance where required.
    • Ensure security agency compliance with PLRD licensing obligations, and site‑specific SOPs.
  3. Incident Management & Reporting
    • Oversee and lead the initial response to security incidents within the DC, conduct preliminary investigations, secure evidence, and compile timely incident reports.
    • Escalate major incidents to Security Management according to Maersk escalation protocols and customer requirements.
    • Ensure proper documentation in digital logs and audit records.
    • Lead escalation to senior management, customers, regulators, where required.
  4. Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
    • Execute routine inspections and audits to ensure physical security, systems, and operational processes remain compliant and effective.
    • Conduct security risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures aligned with Maersk Global Security Standards and TAPA/CTPAT expectations.
    • Maintain and validate all documentation associated with internal and external compliance frameworks (e.g., TAPA FSR, C‑TPAT, customer audits).
    • Ensure end‑to‑end compliance, risk ownership, and continual improvement of security and resilience capabilities aligned with Maersk Global Standards.
    • Ensure audit readiness, evidence integrity, and sustained compliance, not just point‑in‑time closure.
  5. Visitor, Contractor & Event Security Coordination
    • Plan and oversee security arrangements for VIP visits, customer engagements, and high‑traffic operational periods with the security vendor.
    • Coordinate crowd control, traffic flow, and emergency access routes with outsourced security teams and internal stakeholders.
    • Support business continuity preparedness by ensuring emergency response readiness and participating in drills and exercises.
  6. Continuous Improvement & SOP Governance
    • Review, update, and enhance Site Security SOPs to reflect operational changes, audit findings, and emerging risks.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement in security processes, technology utilisation, and workforce capability.
    • Support security training needs analysis and contribute to upskilling initiatives for both internal and outsourced personnel.
    • Drive security maturity enhancements.
    • Engage site leadership to ensure security is embedded into operational decision‑making.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 4‑6 years of supervisory experience in security operations within a logistics, warehouse, or industrial environment. Valid PLRD Security Licence and Security Supervisory certification. WSQ modules aligned to the PWM Security Supervisor track (preferred). Strong proficiency in CCTV operations, electronic security systems, and command‑centre monitoring tools. Sound knowledge of security compliance frameworks such as TAPA FSR / TSR, CTPAT, and local regulatory requirements would be an added advantage. • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks and propose practical, operationally viable mitigations.
  • Experience in emergency response, crisis coordination, or business continuity support is an advantage.
  • Ex‑SPF or SAF background and familiarity with Singapore Customs requirements are added advantages.
