Job summary

One World International School (OWIS) Singapore invites passionate educators to join our Secondary and IB Diploma science program. You will design, deliver, and assess inquiry-based Science lessons across IGCSE and IB curricula, adapting to diverse learners.

Candidates should have at least two years of full-time teaching, a Bachelor's degree and a recognized teaching qualification, and strong English proficiency. Experience in international schools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of full-time teaching experience.
• Bachelor’s degree and a professional teaching qualification (PGDE/PGCE/PGCEi/NIE Diploma) or QTS.
• Strong knowledge of Science at Secondary, IGCSE, and IB levels.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and deliver Science lessons for Secondary and IB Diploma students.
• Collaborate to develop differentiated lesson plans, activities, and assessments.
• Assess and monitor student progress and report outcomes to students and parents.

Job Summary

At One World International School (OWIS), you will teach and educate students across Secondary and IB Diploma levels, delivering differentiated, inquiry-based learning that supports diverse learner needs and promotes the IB Learner Profile and school values.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and deliver Science lessons for Secondary and IB Diploma students that enhance learner understanding and engagement through inquiry-based methods
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop differentiated lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments tailored to individual student needs and learning styles
• Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative evaluations, set measurable improvement goals, and communicate outcomes effectively to students and parents through detailed reports and meetings
• Promote and model the attributes and attitudes of the IB Learner Profile and consistently uphold the school’s core values in all teaching and interactions
• Lead or actively participate in extracurricular activities, school events, assemblies, staff training sessions, and meetings to foster a vibrant school community
• Implement and adhere to school policies and best practices to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all students
• Teach across the full Secondary age range, including IGCSE and IB Diploma curricula, adapting instructional approaches to meet diverse cultural backgrounds and learning needs

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum two (2) years of relevant full-time teaching experience as a qualified teacher
• Bachelor’s degree and a Professional Degree in Teaching or equivalent teaching qualification certificates (PGDE, PGCE, PGCEi, NIE Diploma), Valid Teacher License, or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong knowledge and proven experience teaching Science at Secondary, IGCSE, and IB levels
• High proficiency in spoken and written English to effectively deliver curriculum and communicate with stakeholders

• Experience working in an international school environment
• Demonstrated ability to deliver student-centred, inquiry-based learning that fosters critical thinking and innovation
