Job summary

ATOP Academy PTE. LTD. invites qualified tutors to plan and deliver engaging Biology lessons aligned with the Singapore MOE secondary syllabus. You will tailor lessons to students' needs and monitor progress.

Applicants should have relevant qualification and strong English, with a passion for secondary education. Prior teaching experience is an advantage but not required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• GCE A-Level, Diploma, Degree or equivalent in Education or Science.
• Excellent English, both spoken and written.
• Strong biology knowledge or lower-secondary science.
• Familiar with MOE Secondary Science syllabus.
• Passion for teaching secondary students.
• Strong communication and classroom management.
• Patient, enthusiastic, student-focused.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage but not required.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Biology lessons aligned with Singapore MOE secondary syllabus.
• Assess students’ learning needs and customise lesson plans to maximise learning outcomes.
• Teach scientific concepts in Biology, and/or lower-secondary Science according to the tutor’s expertise.
• Develop students’ understanding of scientific inquiry, experimental methods, data analysis, and practical applications.
• Guide students in answering structured, application-based, and calculation questions accurately.
• Mark assignments, monitor student progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for school assessments, practical assessments, and national examinations.
• Develop students’ curiosity, critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Create a positive, engaging, and disciplined learning environment.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding students’ academic progress.
• Develop teaching resources, lesson materials, and practical learning activities.

Requirements

• GCE A-Level, Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Education, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Strong subject knowledge in Biology, and/or lower-secondary Science.
• Familiarity with Singapore MOE Secondary Science syllabus and assessment requirements.
