Job summary

Pearl Marine Logistics Pte. Ltd. is seeking a qualified Second Officer to support navigational and medical matters on board. The role involves assisting the Chief Officer on cargo operations and deck watch-keeping, and ensuring accurateupkeep of charts, publications and voyage plans.

The candidate should have a COC Class II or III and at least 2 years of experience on Oil/Chemical Tankers, plus strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate with the Master and crew.

Qualifications

• COC Class II or III required for offshore/cargo operations.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as Second Officer on Oil/Chemical Tanker.
• Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to follow the planned on-board schedule.

Responsibilities

• Keep bridge, deck or cargo watch as required.
• Monitor and upkeep of bridge instruments and equipment.
• Upkeep and update all charts and publications.
• Prepare voyage plans according to Master’s instructions.
• Maintain medical stores and equipment as required.
• Keep inventories of all items under charge.

Job description

The Second Officer is responsible for keeping & maintenance of navigational & medical matters & reports to the Master.

The Second Officer assists the Chief Officer on cargo operations & deck watch-keeping.

The Second Officer’s duties & responsibilities include:

• (a). Keeping bridge, deck or cargo watch as required.
• (b). Monitor & upkeep of bridge instruments & equipment.
• (c). Upkeep & update all charts & publications.
• (d). Prepare voyage plans according to Master’s instructions.
• (e). Maintain medical stores & equipment as required.
• (f). Keep inventories of all items under his charge.
• (g). Assist the Master or the Chief Officer in carrying out training, drills & demonstration drills for the crewmembers.

Requirements

• COC Class III or II
• Minimum 2 years of experience on board as Second Officer on Oil / Chemical Tanker.
• Good leadership, teamwork, management and communication skills
• Must be willing to follow Company planned working schedule on board vessel.
