Genome Institute of Singapore, A*STAR invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scientist (PhD) to develop next-generation DNA and RNA editing technologies. You will join a team tackling CRISPR-Cas, insertion sequences, and polymerase engineering, exploring enzyme mining, protein engineering, functional genomics, and editor delivery in cells and animals.
Collaborating with clinicians, you will help build novel editors to correct disease mutations, aligning with GI Singapore’s research priorities
We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Scientist (PhD) to develop the next generation of technologies for DNA and RNA editing.
You will be working with the team on some of the most interesting and hardest problems in CRISPR-Cas, Insertion Sequences (IS), and polymerase engineering. Depending on your research interests and expertise, this means enzyme mining & design, protein & nucleic acid engineering, functional genomics, editor delivery in cells and animals, and/or synthetic genomes. Novel technologies you develop will be used to correct disease mutations, through working with our team and clinician partners.
Technical experience in molecular biology, enzyme:NA engineering, gene editing, cell culture, high-throughput assays, Illumina/ONT sequencing, computational biology, and/or Claude Code/R/python preferred. Strong desire to invent and explore scientific frontiers preferred.
