Job summary

Illumina in Singapore is seeking a motivated B.Sc./B.Eng. graduate with lab experience to support the development of reagents and assays for NGS platforms. You will participate in molecular biology workflows, document results, and uphold lab practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.Sc./B.Eng. with 1-2 years laboratory experience in life sciences, biochemistry, biochemical/chemical engineering or equivalent is required.
• Recent B.Sc. graduates with laboratory experience may also apply.
• Familiarity in various molecular biology and analytical techniques eg. quantitative PCR, optical/fluorescence microscopy, electrophoresis, liquid chromatography, activity assays, cell culture, nucleic acid isolation.
• Strong collaborator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Sense of urgency and ability to achieve deliverables within project timelines.

Responsibilities

• Engage in cross-functional collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams to accelerate the development of novel reagents and assays used across Illumina NGS platforms.
• Plan and execute various laboratory activities, communicate results and conclusions to aid in team decision-making.
• Maintain good lab and documentation practices.
• Upkeep of lab equipment, laboratory supplies and good housekeeping.

• Recent B.Sc. graduates with laboratory experience may also apply.
• Familiarity in various molecular biology and analytical techniques eg. quantitative PCR, optical/fluorescence microscopy, electrophoresis, liquid chromatography, activity assays, cell culture, nucleic acid isolation.
• Strong collaborator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Sense of urgency and ability to achieve deliverables within project timelines.
• Ability to adapt to business needs in a rapidly changing, fast paced industry.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills

• Experience with NGS library preparation.
• Previous work experience in biochemical, pharma, chemical or equivalent industries.
• Experience with IVD and/or RUO product development.
• Experience with NGS workflows including bioinformatics data processing.
• Understanding of protein biochemistry, engineering and structure.
