Job summary

Sunnyhill Ace Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a competent Science Lab Technician to support daily science practical lessons and national examinations.

You will prepare, set up, and test apparatus, specimens, reagents, and kits required for lessons and exams, while maintaining orderly inventory records and ensuring safe handling of hazardous materials. You will assist Science Department teachers with administrative profiling, filing, and campus logistics during projects or science fairs, and

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in a relevant scientific field or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience as Science Lab Technician or Assistant, preferably in a local Singapore school.
• Strong organizational skills and familiarity with laboratory safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lab preparation: set up and test science apparatus, specimens, reagents for lessons and exams.
• Inventory management: maintain inventory records and process replenishment orders with suppliers.
• Safety & maintenance: enforce safety regulations and calibrate/maintain equipment.
• Department support: assist teachers with administrative tasks during projects and science fairs.

Job description

Working Hours

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
• Fridays: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
• Off on weekends and gazetted public holidays

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

• Lab Preparation: Prepare, set up, and test science apparatus, biological specimens, chemical reagents, and experimental kits required for daily science practical lessons and national examinations.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory records of all laboratory equipment, glassware, and hazardous materials; process stock-take counts and handle timely replenishment orders with external suppliers.
• Safety & Maintenance: Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety regulations; properly store and dispose of chemical waste materials, and perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
• Department Support: Assist the Science Department teachers with administrative profiling, filing, and general campus logistics during departmental projects or science fairs.

Job Requirements

• Qualifications: Minimum Diploma or Certificate in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biotechnology, Applied Chemistry, Life Sciences) or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience: Prior experience working as a Science Lab Technician or Assistant, preferably within a local Singapore primary or secondary school environment.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and general familiarity with laboratory safety protocols.
