Job summary

Sunnyhill Ace in Singapore seeks a Laboratory Assistant to support science classes by preparing apparatus, specimens, reagents and learning kits as requested by teachers.

You will maintain strict safety protocols in the laboratory, conduct regular stock checks, manage procurement, and assist teachers during practical sessions while handling routine admin tasks under the Head of Department.

Qualifications

• Prepare materials and learning kits for science classes as requested by teachers.
• Maintain safety protocols in laboratories and secure hazardous materials.
• Conduct regular stock counts and logging to ensure accurate supplies.
• Handle procurement requisitions to replenish laboratory materials.
• Assist teachers during class by supervising students and enforcing workshop rules.
• Perform additional admin tasks as directed by Head of Department.
• Record inventory data using Word and Excel.

• Maintain and enforce strict safety protocols in laboratories to secure hazardous materials and tools
• Conduct regular inventory audits by counting stock and logging data to ensure accurate supply levels
• Handle procurement requisitions to replenish laboratory materials as needed
• Assist teachers during practical classes by supervising students to ensure compliance with workshop regulations
• Perform assigned secondary school administrative support tasks as directed by the Head of Department (HOD)
• Use Microsoft Word and Excel to record and manage inventory data accurately

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum GCE 'O' Levels with at least 3 passes

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Prior experience managing laboratories in an MOE school context
• Basic knowledge of primary-level Science and Mathematics concepts

Other Information

• Position Type: Full-Time or Regular Part-Time Contract
• Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays, 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM (6 hours inclusive of lunch)
• Note: Services are not required on weekends and gazetted public holidays
