The Role:
We are looking for a Science Laboratory cum Admin Assistant to support the lessons, practical activities and Tinker Space programmes. The role involves preparing laboratory materials and equipment, managing inventory, maintaining a safe and organised learning environment, and providing administrative support to the Science Department.
Job Responsibilities:
Science& Laboratory Support
- Prepare and set up materials, equipment and apparatus for Primary 3–6 Science lessons and practical activities.
- Support teachers during Science, ALP, Tinker Space and maker-related activities.
- Pack and organise equipment and materials after lessons.
- Assist with school Science programmes, competitions, exhibitions and enrichment activities.
Laboratory & Tinker Space Management
- Keep Science Rooms and Tinker Space clean, safe and well-organised.
- Ensure equipment, materials and consumables are properly stored, labelled and maintained.
- Conduct routine checks and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Report faulty or damaged equipment and assist with repair arrangements when required.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Maintain accurate records of Science and ALP equipment, materials and consumables.
- Conduct regular stock‑takes and monitor inventory levels.
- Manage the loan and return of equipment and apparatus.
- Report missing, damaged or expired items and arrange replenishment when needed.
- Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative support to the Science Department and ALP.
- Perform data entry, filing, documentation and record keeping.
- Assist with event preparation, logistics and other school activities.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the school when required.
Requirements:
- Possess GCE 'O' Level or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Good organisation, planning and time management skills.
- Detail‑oriented with good record‑keeping and inventory management skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, proactive and adaptable.
- Able to follow school safety rules, procedures and confidentiality requirements.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a school, laboratory or related environment is preferred. This a Contract role for One year/extendable
Others:
- Contract from Oct 2026 to 31 Dec 2027 and another one‑year extension
- 5days week from Mondays to Fridays: 7:00amto 2.00pm, inclusive of 1.0hr lunch break
- Break for 2 weeks each during the June and December holidays. During these 2 weeks break, the school will not be paying for the officer. The schedule of workdays during the school holidays will be given to the appointed candidate 4 weeks prior to the commencement.
