Contract Period: From 1 October 2026 to 31 December 2027
Option to extend: From 1 January 2028 to 31 December 2028
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 2:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
- Break for 2 weeks each during the June and December holidays. During these 2 weeks break, the school will not be paying for the officer. The schedule of work days during the school holidays will be given to the appointed candidate 4 weeks prior to the commencement.
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Requirements:
- Possess at least GCE 'O' Level qualifications or equivalent.
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word and Excel).
- Demonstrate strong organizational, planning and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Be detail-oriented and systematic in maintaining laboratory resources, inventory records, loan documentation and administrative records.
- Be able to maintain accurate records and ensure proper accountability of Science equipment, apparatus and consumables.
- Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, initiative and adaptability in supporting school operations.
- Observe confidentiality and comply with all school rules, safety requirements and operational procedures.
- Preferably have at least three (3) years of prior experience in school-based support services, Science-related laboratory operations or related fields.
Job Scopes:
The Services required, but not be limited to, are set out as follows:
A. Operational and Logistical Support for Science lessons, practical activities and Applied Learning Programmes (ALP)
- Prepare, set up and pack away apparatus, materials and consumables required for:
- Support the delivery of Primary 3 to Primary 6 Science lessons, practical activities and assessments.
- ALP, TinkerSpace and maker-related lessons and activities
- Assist teachers in preparing and organising Science, ALP and maker-related learning activities.
- Ensure lesson materials, apparatus, equipment and resources are available, properly arranged and ready for use.
B. Management of Science Rooms and TinkerSpace
- Maintain the school's two (2) Science Rooms and TinkerSpace in a clean, safe, organised and conducive condition for teaching and learning.
- Maintain TinkerSpace as a creative, safe and enjoyable environment.
- Ensure that equipment, materials resources and consumables are properly stored, labelled and maintained in accordance with school's safety requirements.
- Update the relevant Head of Department or Subject Head on the progress of programmes, inventory tracking and replenishing
C. Inventory, Equipment and Resource Management
- Manage inventory and maintain accurate records for Science and ALP resources, such as maker-related laboratory equipment, apparatus, consumables and materials.
- Conduct periodic stock-taking and inventory checks.
- Assist other assigned departments and programme owners with inventory checks and teaching resource sorting.
- Monitor usage levels and promptly report damaged, faulty, expired or missing items.
- Manage the loan and return of Science and ALP apparatus and equipment for lessons and activities, ensuring proper documentation and record keeping.
- Carry out routine checks, basic maintenance and troubleshooting of Science and ALP equipment.
- Report equipment faults and coordinate servicing or repairs with vendors when required by the school.
- Provide administrative support to the Science Department and ALP, including data entry, filing, record keeping and other clerical duties as required.
D. Programme Implementation and Teacher Support
- Assist in the preparation, logistics and implementation of Science-related programmes, exhibitions, competitions, enrichment activities and special programmes.
- Prepare materials, resources and venues required for departmental programmes and activities.
- Provide operational and administrative support for school events and activities as assigned by the school.
- Support the Science and ALP activities by assisting teachers with operating related equipment and devices.
E. Administrative, School Event and other support
- Provide administrative support to the Science Department and ALP, including data entry, filing, documentation, record keeping and other clerical duties as required.
- Undertake any other administrative, operational or support duties assigned by the School leaders, Head of Department (Science), Head of Department (School Signature Programmes), or authorised personnel to meet the school's operational requirements.
