Job summary

NPS International School in Singapore is seeking a caring, qualified and experienced Nurse to provide healthcare support to students and staff, promote wellbeing, and maintain a safe and healthy school environment.

The role covers basic medical care, first aid, health assessments, medication administration, and confidential health record management, in collaboration with parents and school staff. You will ensure a safe medical room and respond to emergencies promptly.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced nurse with valid registration
• Experience in school or pediatric healthcare is preferred
• Ability to perform basic medical care and first aid

Responsibilities

• Provide basic medical care, first aid and emergency assistance to students and staff when required.
• Assess unwell or injured students, provide appropriate care and arrange referrals as needed.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records including illnesses, injuries, and medication administration.
• Administer medication according to school policies and parental consent.
• Monitor students with chronic conditions and allergies and ensure care plans are in place.
• Liaise with parents, teachers and operations staff regarding health needs and follow-up care.
• Keep the school medical room clean, organised and stocked with first-aid supplies and equipment.

Job Description

NPS International School is seeking a caring, responsible, qualified and experienced Nurse (preferably work in school environment) to provide healthcare support to students and staff, promote student wellbeing, and maintain a safe and healthy school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Student Healthcare: Provide basic medical care, first aid and emergency assistance to students and staff when required.

• Health Assessment: Assess students who are unwell or injured, provide appropriate care, and arrange referrals to Parents/medical professionals or emergency services when necessary.

• Medical Records: Maintain accurate and confidential health records, including details of illnesses, injuries, medication administration and medical incidents.

• Medication Management: Administer medication in accordance with school policies, parental consent and established medical procedures.

• Chronic Conditions and Allergies: Monitor and support students with existing medical conditions, allergies and other healthcare needs, ensuring appropriate care plans are in place.

• Parent and Staff Liaison: Communicate professionally with Parents, Home-Room-Teacher, Operations Staff In-charge and school management in-charge regarding students' health needs, incidents and follow-up care, while maintaining confidentiality.

• Health and Safety: Ensure the school medical room is clean, organised and adequately stocked with first-aid supplies and essential medical equipment and to inform Operations Staff (if need to order)
