Job summary

St. Patrick's School invites applications for an NFS Kitchen Assistant to support the Nutrition and Food Science department with practical lessons, kitchen operations and inventory management at 490 East Coast Road, Singapore.

This contract role runs 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2028, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break. Preference given to candidates with a kitchen background and at least 1 year of experience in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to cook is preferred.
• Preferably secondary school education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredient trays for NFS practical lessons and practical examinations.
• Maintain cleanliness of two NFS kitchens, including sweeping and mopping, cleaning cookers, tables and sinks, and clearing waste bins.
• Assist with ordering: food and ingredients, kitchen equipment, cleaning materials and equipment.
• Monitor ingredient stocks and expiry dates.
• Clean the refrigerators twice a year, in June and October.
• Wash and fold kitchen towels and aprons using the available washing machine and dryer.
• Report kitchen defects to the Operations Manager (OM).
• Perform other duties assigned by the Principal, Vice-Principal, HOD, Operations Manager or Administration Manager.
• Support additional school requirements during periods when services are otherwise not required, with extra hours paid on a prorated basis.
