Job summary

Yellow Ribbon is seeking a part-time School Counsellor to augment the current counselling services in schools. You will provide direct counselling, support teachers’ professional development, and help equip student peer supporters with understanding of adolescent issues such as online bullying, stress and relationship management so they can identify peers in need and refer them for prompt follow-up.

This role requires sensitivity, collaboration with school staff, and a commitment to student

Qualifications

• Experience in school counselling.
• Ability to design and deliver teacher development sessions.
• Understanding of adolescent issues and peer-support referral processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct school counselling to students.

Job description

With the increase in the number of counselling cases in schools, the part-time school counsellor will augment the baseline support of one School Counsellor in the following areas:

(a) Counselling Work.

(b) Professional development of teachers; and

(c) Equipping student peer supporters with understanding of adolescent issues such as online bullying, stress management and relationship management so that they can identify peers in need and refer them to the counsellors for prompt follow-up.
