Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and grow sales with new and existing customers in the F&B industry.
- Identify and approach potential customers including restaurants, cafes, caterers, food stalls, central kitchens and other foodservice businesses.
- Maintain good working relationships with existing customers and follow up on their requirements.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and follow up on sales enquiries and orders.
- Introduce and promote new and existing products to customers.
- Monitor sales performance, customer buying patterns and market opportunities.
- Work towards achieving company sales targets and business growth objectives.
- Handle customer feedback and assist in resolving sales-related matters.
Purchasing & Supplier Management
- Source and evaluate suitable local and overseas suppliers and products.
- Negotiate purchasing prices, payment terms, MOQs and other commercial terms with suppliers.
- Prepare and coordinate purchase orders and follow up on incoming shipments or deliveries.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure reliable supply of products.
- Compare supplier pricing and continuously look for opportunities to improve purchasing costs and margins.
- Monitor product costs and recommend selling price adjustments when necessary.
- Source new products according to market demand and customer requirements.
Inventory & Planning
- Monitor inventory levels and plan purchases based on sales movement and stock requirements.
- Ensure sufficient stock is maintained while avoiding excessive or slow-moving inventory.
- Coordinate closely with the warehouse and operations team on stock availability and incoming goods.
- Review fast-moving, slow-moving and ageing stocks and recommend appropriate actions.
- Assist with sales forecasting and purchasing planning.
Management & Administration
- Maintain accurate sales, purchasing and supplier records.
- Prepare periodic sales, purchasing and stock reports for management.
- Work closely with management, warehouse, logistics and administrative teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist management in product pricing, promotions and business development strategies.
- Perform other sales, purchasing or operational duties as required by the company.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in sales, purchasing, procurement or business development.
- Experience in the F&B, foodservice, wholesale or distribution industry will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- Able to source products and negotiate confidently with suppliers.
- Commercially minded with a good understanding of pricing, cost and profit margins.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of sales and purchasing responsibilities.
- Good organisational and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced SME environment.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and email.
- Bilingual communication skills will be an advantage for dealing with different customers and suppliers.
