Job description

Soori, a distinctive luxury hospitality brand, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented sales professional to join its commercial team, supporting the sales effort across its two resorts, Soori Penang and Soori Bali.

We are looking for someone outspoken, engaging, polished and credible, with real personality, energy, curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset — someone who naturally acts as a brand ambassador for Soori, commercially driven without taking an overly transactional approach, and motivated by the opportunity to grow into a more senior sales leadership role as they develop within the group.

The portfolio brings together two very different hospitality experiences: Soori Penang, an intimate heritage property defined by its sense of place, personalised service and residential character, and Soori Bali, an established destination resort operating at a larger scale within the international luxury leisure market.

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of accounts across both hotels, follow the sales direction set by corporate management and the Director of Marketing, and work closely with reservations and marketing colleagues to convert the right opportunities into confirmed business. As an ultra-luxury brand, the priority is always the quality of business secured rather than volume.

The Role
  • The Assistant Director will follow the sales direction set by corporate management and the Director of Marketing across both properties, with a particular focus on international luxury leisure business, and will focus on building strong, high-quality client relationships within that direction.
  • The role requires a considered, property-specific approach. For the heritage property, the emphasis will be on personalised account development and relationships suited to its positioning. For the resort, the role will involve building relationships across a broader account base within an established distribution and pricing framework, always prioritising the quality of business over volume.
  • Working closely with reservations, marketing and operational teams, the Assistant Director will support the positioning of both properties, grow revenue from assigned markets and accounts, and build relationships with the travel advisors and partners who influence luxury travel.
  • The role combines proactive account development with disciplined reporting, follow-up and close day-to-day coordination with reservations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Follow the sales direction set by corporate management and the Director of Marketing for each property, reflecting their individual positioning and commercial priorities.
  • Manage and grow a defined portfolio of accounts across both hotels.
  • Identify and develop new accounts and partnership opportunities within assigned markets and segments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with luxury travel advisors, tour operators, destination specialists, consortia and preferred partner contacts.
  • Support a targeted, relationship-led sales approach for the heritage property.
  • Build and maintain high-quality account relationships for the resort, in line with direction set by management.
  • Represent the properties at selected trade shows, sales missions, roadshows and client events as directed.
  • Maintain account plans and ensure disciplined follow-up, conversion and relationship management.
  • Provide accurate input on business mix, booking pace, occupancy, average rate and conversion for assigned accounts and markets.
  • Recognise and respond to the different demand patterns and booking behaviours of each property.
  • Support direct booking initiatives and help maintain reservations response standards.
  • Ensure rates, inventory, offers and content for assigned accounts are presented accurately and consistently.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Marketing and sales team on campaigns, content and communications, ensuring alignment with brand direction.
  • Meet individual sales targets focused on the quality and fit of business secured, and maintain accurate account and reporting records.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, energetic and commercially focused sales culture across the group.
Requirement:
  • A track record of generating and converting business within luxury hospitality.
  • Some exposure to the international luxury leisure market.
  • Experience engaging with luxury travel advisors, tour operators, consortia or preferred partner programmes.
  • A developing industry network and the confidence to build new relationships.
  • An understanding of how to sell properties with different identities and commercial requirements.
  • Sound judgement in prioritising the quality of business appropriate to each property's ultra-luxury positioning, rather than pursuing volume.
  • A practical, working understanding of hotel pricing, forecasting and business mix.
  • Comfort interpreting commercial reports and using data to guide sales activity.
  • An appreciation of how sales, marketing and revenue management work together, and the discipline to align sales activity with direction set by corporate management and the Director of Marketing.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • A willingness to travel internationally when required.
  • An outspoken, engaging personality with genuine presence and confidence — someone who can naturally represent and champion the brand as a true ambassador for Soori, both on property and in the market.
The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have progressive sales experience within luxury hotels, resorts or high-end travel, and will be looking to broaden their exposure across a multi-property portfolio.

They are likely to be currently working as a:

  • Senior Sales Manager within a luxury hotel or resort;
  • Sales Manager from a single luxury or independent property; or
