Job summary

5R METAL PTE. LTD. is seeking a results-driven sales professional to expand the company's scrap metal trading and recycling business across Singapore and international markets.

You will identify new customers, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with operations to ensure timely collection and delivery while monitoring performance and driving profitability. The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Business Admin, Sales or related field, at least 3 years in sales or commodities trading, and

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, scrap metal trading, recycling or commodities trading is preferred.
• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, scrap metal pricing, purchasing and trading procedures will be an advantage.
• Proven ability to develop new customers, negotiate commercial deals and achieve sales targets.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Good understanding of market research, sales planning and customer relationship management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and sales reporting tools.
• Able to work independently, demonstrate initiative and manage multiple business accounts.
• Willing to travel locally and overseas when required to meet customers and suppliers.
• Possession of a valid Singapore driving licence is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales strategies to expand the company's scrap metal trading and recycling business.
• Identify, approach and secure new customers, suppliers, factories, construction companies, contractors and industrial partners.
• Build and maintain strong business relationships with existing and prospective customers and suppliers.
• Manage the buying and selling of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, including copper, aluminium, brass, iron, steel and other recyclable materials.
• Negotiate purchase prices, selling prices, contracts and payment terms to achieve business growth and profitability.
• Conduct market research to monitor scrap metal prices, customer demand, competitor activities and industry trends.
• Prepare quotations, sales proposals, business agreements and sales forecasts.
• Coordinate with operations, logistics and warehouse teams to arrange scrap collection, transportation, weighing, sorting and delivery.
• Monitor sales performance, customer accounts, outstanding payments and collection targets.
• Develop new market opportunities and establish long-term trading partnerships in Singapore and overseas markets.
• Prepare regular sales reports and present business performance updates to management.
• Ensure business transactions comply with applicable Singapore laws, company policies and relevant environmental and workplace safety requirements.
• Supervise and guide the sales team to achieve sales targets and improve overall business performance.
