About the role
Homa designs and supplies smart lighting for homes across Singapore: downlights, track lighting, LED strips, smart switches, motorised curtains and membrane ceilings. You will sit with homeowners and interior designers, understand how they want to live in their space, design the lighting around it, and close the deal. You do not need to know anything about lighting. We will teach you, properly, from zero. What we cannot teach is energy, curiosity, and genuinely wanting to be good at something.
Key responsibilities
- Design lighting for real homes. Read the floor plan and work out where every light and switch belongs, how many gangs each switch needs, and which areas get what.
- Meet homeowners and interior designers at our Experience Hub, walk them through what is possible, prepare the quotation, and follow through until it is signed.
- Keep interior design partners updated, run product training sessions for their teams, and make sure Homa is the name on their specification list.
- Reach out to design firms who have never heard of us and get in the room.
- Visit sites, coordinate with our technical lead, and sort out issues before the customer has to ask twice.
About you
- You have sold something to a human being face to face. Retail, renovation, furniture, property, insurance or telco all count.
- You are the one who follows up, not the one who waits to be chased.
- You can sit with a customer who has no idea what they want and leave them feeling clear.
- You can hold ten projects at ten different stages in your head without dropping one.
- You would rather be out at a showroom, a site, or someone's living room than behind a desk all day.
- You want to learn a product properly, not memorise a script.
- You get a little competitive with yourself about your own numbers.
Benefits
- Attractive commission on everything you close. Uncapped, and structured so the harder you push, the faster it climbs.
- Real training in lighting design, product knowledge, how the renovation industry actually works, and how to read a space.
- Your own customers from day one. No shadowing for six months and no queue to join.
- Direct access to the business owner to see how deals, margins, suppliers and pricing really work.
- Room to grow into something bigger as the company scales.
- CPF, annual leave and all statutory benefits.
About the role
Most sales roles hand you a price list. This one hands you a floor plan.
Homa designs and supplies smart lighting for homes across Singapore: downlights, track lighting, LED strips, smart switches, motorised curtains and membrane ceilings. When someone renovates, we are the people who decide where the light falls, what colour it glows at seven in the evening, and which switch turns it on.
We are looking for someone to do that work with us. You will sit with homeowners and interior designers, understand how they want to live in their space, design the lighting around it, and close the deal.
You do not need to know anything about lighting. We will teach you, properly, from zero. What we cannot teach is energy, curiosity, and genuinely wanting to be good at something.
What you will do
- Design lighting for real homes. Read the floor plan and work out where every light and switch belongs, how many gangs each switch needs, and which areas get what. It is satisfying work, and you will be surprisingly good at it within a few months.
- Sell. Meet homeowners and interior designers at our Experience Hub, walk them through what is possible, prepare the quotation, and follow through until it is signed.
- Own your interior design partners. Keep them updated, run product training sessions for their teams, and make sure Homa is the name on their specification list. These relationships are the business.
- Go and find new ones. Reach out to design firms who have never heard of us. Get in the room. This is a real part of the job and the part with the most upside for you.
- See it through. Visit sites, coordinate with our technical lead, and sort out the thing that went wrong before the customer has to ask twice.
Who does well here
We have no hard requirements. We would rather train the right person than settle for the wrong one with a better CV. You will probably love this job if:
- You have sold something to a human being face to face. Retail, renovation, furniture, property, insurance or telco all count
- You are the one who follows up, not the one who waits to be chased
- You can sit with a customer who has no idea what they want and leave them feeling clear
- You can hold ten projects at ten different stages in your head without dropping one
- You would rather be out at a showroom, a site, or someone's living room than behind a desk all day
- You want to learn a product properly, not memorise a script
- You get a little competitive with yourself about your own numbers
Useful, but genuinely not required
Experience in lighting, smart home, interior design, renovation or furniture. Reading floor plans or CAD drawings. Conversational Mandarin, since some of our suppliers and customers prefer it. Any of these will shorten your learning curve. None of them will get you the job on their own.
What you get
- Attractive commission on everything you close. Uncapped, and structured so the harder you push, the faster it climbs. Your effort shows up in your own pay, every month.
- Real training. Lighting design, product knowledge, how the renovation industry actually works, and how to read a space. You will finish your first year knowing things most people in this industry pick up over five.
- Your own customers from day one. No shadowing for six months and no queue to join. You own your projects end to end, and you get the credit.
- Direct access to the business owner. You will see how deals, margins, suppliers and pricing really work. That education is worth more than the salary.
- Room to grow into something bigger. We are scaling, and the people here now will run the teams we build next.
- The standard things, done properly. CPF, annual leave and all statutory benefits.
