Job summary

OBAYASHI SINGAPORE PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a Workplace Safety and Health Officer to perform site safety inspections and ensure compliance with the project safety management system on our Singapore sites.

You will monitor programs, assist the HSSE Manager, conduct investigations, coordinate emergency responses, and promote HSSE awareness through training and campaigns. WSHO registration and at least 2 years of post‑registration experience are required.

Qualifications

• Registered WSHO with at least 2 years of post‑registration and practical experience relevant to the scope of works of the Project Contract.
• Experience working in main contractor firm and managing major building projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure work site is following company’s and project’s safety management system procedures and system.
• Assist HSSE Manager in developing, implementing and monitoring HSSE program.
• On-site work monitoring and conduct safety inspections, assessments and incident investigations & reporting.
• Coordinate emergency response to include scheduling, training and updating written programs.
• Monitor work site industrial hygiene.
• Spearhead safety programs at work site.
• Review Method Statement, Risk Assessment and Covid SOPs to ensure conform to project requirements and comply with applicable regulations.
• Liaise and coordinate with Client, Contractor, project team and relevant parties for all safety, security and Covid related matters, including meeting, reports etc.
• Establish good working relations with client and its representatives.
• Assist with safety program implementation to include training, conducting routine plant & machinery inspection and safety committee participation as recording secretariat.
• Organize promotion such as HSSE campaigns, competition and other activities to improve HSSE awareness.
• File and maintain safety records for inspections/auditing etc.
• Other ad‑hoc duties assigned by management or HSSE Manager.

(B) Essential Job Functions:
