Job summary

DBS Bank Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Android Engineer for our banking mobile app team in Singapore. You will design, build and ship features, optimise performance, and enforce security practices in a hands-on, mentor-led environment.

You will work with product, design, QA and web teams in an Agile setup, guiding features from development through CI/CD to Play Store release on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

• Track record of shipping and maintaining production apps on Google Play.
• Strong skills in Kotlin and Java.
• Solid understanding of the Android SDK and component lifecycles.
• UI development with Jetpack Compose and XML Views.
• Reactive programming with RxJava and Kotlin Coroutines/Flow.
• Architecture patterns MVVM, MVP and Clean Architecture.
• Dependency injection with Dagger, Hilt or Koin.
• Networking with Retrofit/OkHttp and REST APIs.
• Local data storage with Room/SQLite.
• Experience building and optimising hybrid apps, including native/web communication.
• Multi-module Gradle builds.
• Performance optimisation: memory leaks, profiling, startup time, ANRs, UI jank.
• Security best practices: Android Keystore, certificate pinning, code obfuscation (R8/ProGuard) and OWASP guidelines.
• Unit and UI testing with JUnit, Mockito/MockK and Espresso.
• Git, CI/CD pipelines and Play Store release process.
• Crash and performance monitoring tools.
• Code reviews & mentoring.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
