Job summary

ST Engineering in Singapore seeks a Robotics Engineer to design and develop GNC systems and algorithms for our unmanned drone platforms, ensuring safe and reliable performance for regional customers.

You will work with a tight-knit team to implement 6-DOF simulation, sensor integration, firmware in C/C++, and rigorous testing across ground and flight environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Controls, Mechatronics Engineering, or a field related to GNC.
• 3+ years of industry or other relevant experience in GNC (Fresh graduates can be considered).
• Strong background in system modelling, system identification, parameter estimation, frequency response analysis, classical and modern control theory.
• Experience in system modelling and control, analysis, and simulation in aircraft applications.
• Experience in developing model-based design and analyses using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Knowledge in inertial and other type of sensors for navigation (e.g. accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, GNSS receivers, pressure sensors, ranging sensors, etc.).
• Knowledge in Kalman filtering, digital signal processing and sensor data fusion.
• Proficient in C/C++ programming language.
• Proficient in software and development tools such as Linux, ROS and Git.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and modify guidance, navigation, and flight control systems and algorithms for unmanned aircraft systems.
• Develop and modify 6-DOF and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation environments.
• Select, test, evaluate and integrate new sensors or navigation systems onto drone systems.
• Write, modify, and test firmware and flight code that runs on flight control computers (in C or C++).
• Analyze flight data to verify flight performance and troubleshoot in-flight issues.
• Generate documentation on specifications, design, test procedures and test results of GNC systems and algorithms.
• Participate in design and code reviews.
• Support ground and flight test activities.
• Collaborate with system, software, safety, flight test and business staff.
