Job summary

Orient Robotics is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain firmware powering teleoperated vehicles and sensing devices. You will work across the full embedded stack from MCU firmware to device drivers, wireless connectivity and edge-to-cloud telemetry.

Responsibilities include developing embedded firmware in C/C++, integrating sensors, implementing RTOS-based solutions and supporting hardware bring-up for reliable field deployment in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++, with working knowledge of Python.
• Hands-on experience developing MCU firmware (STM32, ESP32, ARM Cortex-M, Arduino) with RTOS (Zephyr RTOS, Free RTOS).
• Experience integrating sensors and peripherals via I2C, SPI, UART, ADC, PWM, GPIO and CAN, including writing device drivers.
• Familiarity with wireless and IoT protocols: BLE, Wi-Fi, MQTT, Modbus TCP and TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and debug embedded firmware in C/C++ on ARM Cortex-M platforms using RTOS.
• Integrate sensors and peripherals over I2C, SPI, UART, CAN; write device drivers and BSPs.
• Implement wireless and IoT links (BLE, Wi‑Fi, MQTT, Modbus TCP, TCP/IP) for telemetry.
• Hardware bring-up and debugging with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, GDB and JTAG/SWD.
• Build Python-based test tooling, telemetry dashboards and regression tests.
• Collaborate with hardware, mechanical and systems engineers; document designs and reviews.
