Job summary

Google Singapore is seeking an Operations Technician for our Hardware Operations team to install, configure, test, and troubleshoot servers and networking components within a high-density data center. You will work with Google's Linux cluster software and network hardware to ensure reliable, scalable infrastructure.

The role requires 4+ years in hardware/OS or networking, data center infrastructure experience, and hands-on problem solving with meters, sensors, and calibration tools.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in hardware/OS coding or networking.
• Experience troubleshooting computer, server, and network hardware.
• Experience with data center infrastructure: mechanical, electrical or similar.
• Experience with meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting using standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with troubleshooting hardware/network issues using Linux tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs of equipment, and work on platforms, ladders, and under raised floors.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the robotic system's performance, checking for error messages and health status using specialized software.
• Understand Preventive Maintenance procedures and schedules for tier 1 technicians.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot software, hardware, or robot-server interactions; perform repairs and document actions.
• Install robot operating software and system updates compatible with the data center environment.
• Collaborate with data center staff, robotics professionals, and security to coordinate maintenance and ensure alignment with operations.
