Job summary

BCP Trading Pte. Ltd. is seeking a highly analytical Risk Operations Lead to oversee end-to-end trading exposures, risk mitigation, and system controls within a multinational oil/energy trading environment.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong engineering or quantitative risk background, with hands-on experience in physical and derivative trade structures, SAP S/4HANA, and UAT leadership. Thai language ability is a bonus for regional coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum/Chemical/Mechanical) or Finance/Quantitative Economics.
• 4–6 years of experience in trade support, risk operations, or derivatives management in a multinational oil, energy, or commodities trading environment.
• SAP/SAP S/4HANA SME with experience leading UAT, platform enhancements, and physical trade structure designs.
• Strong understanding of flat price exposure, derivatives operations, and cross‑functional financial risk mitigation.
• Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with global trading desks; Thai language ability is a strong bonus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily trading exposures, risk limits, VaR, and MtM valuations; escalate risk issues to senior management.
• Oversee risk controls across the transaction lifecycle from trade execution through to settlement and post-trade processing.
• Support counterparty onboarding, KYC reviews, and sanctions screening; ensure compliance with internal policies and external frameworks.
• Act as SME for trading platform enhancements; design physical trade structures and drive UAT; leverage SAP S/4HANA for exposure reporting.
• Coordinate with global Trading, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and IT teams to resolve trade breaks and operational risks; mentor junior analysts.

BCP Trading Pte. Ltd. is looking for a highly analytical Risk Operations Lead to oversee our end-to-end trading exposures, risk mitigation frameworks, and system controls. This pivotal role bridges technical system architecture with real-time trading desk risk controls, ensuring operational integrity across the entire transaction lifecycle.

The ideal candidate must possess a strong background in engineering logic or quantitative risk management, combined with deep hands‑on expertise in physical and derivative trade structures within the commodities, energy, or fuel sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Risk Monitoring & Control: Monitor daily trading exposures, risk limits, Value at Risk (VaR), and Mark-to-Market (MtM) valuations. Ensure immediate escalation of risk issues and limit breaches to senior management.
• Trade Lifecycle Risk Oversight: Oversee comprehensive risk controls throughout the transaction lifecycle, from trade execution and confirmation through to settlement, reconciliation, and post-trade processing.
• Risk Governance & Compliance: Support counterparty onboarding, Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews, and sanctions screening. Maintain rigorous compliance with internal risk policies and external regulatory frameworks.
• Systems & SAP S/4HANA Enhancement: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for trading platform platforms. Design physical trade structures, drive User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and leverage SAP S/4HANA capabilities to enhance exposure management and reporting accuracy.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with global Trading, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and IT teams to resolve complex trade breaks and operational risks. Provide technical guidance and support to junior risk analysts.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Petroleum/Chemical/Mechanical), Finance, Quantitative Economics, or a related highly analytical field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in trade support, risk operations, or exchange/derivatives management within a multinational oil, energy, or commodities trading environment.
• Technical Mastery: Proven track record as an SAP/SAP S/4HANA SME with experience leading UAT, platform enhancements, and physical trade structure designs.
• Competencies: Strong understanding of flat price exposure, derivatives operations, and cross‑functional financial risk mitigation. Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with global trading desks.
• Communication & Language: Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with global trading desks. Ability to understand or speak Thai is a strong bonus to facilitate smooth communication with regional stakeholders and business entities in Thailand.
