Job summary

Grant Thornton Singapore is seeking a seasoned professional to lead restructuring and insolvency engagements in Singapore. The role focuses on managing complex matters, liaising with creditors and advisors, and guiding junior team members through multifaceted engagements.

The ideal candidate will bring at least 6 years in a professional services restructuring and insolvency environment, with demonstrated supervisory experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance or other relevant fields.
• Minimum 6 years of prior experience in a restructuring and insolvency team within a professional services firm, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
• Experience in supervising work of junior members.
• Experience in managing a variety of projects and engagements.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Excel, PowerPoint and Word and financial modelling an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute day to day issues on restructuring and insolvency engagements (being, amongst others, liquidation, receivership, judicial management, scheme of arrangement, monitoring / exceptional accountant, debt restructuring and personal insolvency work)
• Liaise with stakeholders, creditors and other advisors
• Prepare draft correspondence, reports and presentations
• Reconstruct of (complex) accounting records from incomplete information
• Undertake investigative work for the benefit of recovering assets for the insolvent estate and company analysis, including financial modelling where necessary
• Participate in client meetings and strategy discussions with supervisors and partners
• For insolvency matters, attend to statutory and compliance matters
• Assist in department networking and marketing activities

Our Restructuring and Insolvency team works closely with industry professionals, companies and their stakeholders to identify and resolve issues affecting profitability, protect enterprise value and facilitate a full recovery where possible.
