RTO (Resident Technical Officer) Architect is site based and responsible for supervising and ensuring that all architectural works in IWMF project are executed in strict accordance with the approved drawings, specifications and the local building regulations. The role is a critical part of the on-site supervision team, working under the direction of the Chief Resident Engineer (CRE) and Superintending Officer (SO).
Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Resident Engineer and Resident Engineers in daily IRF inspections and coordination activities.
- Conducting regular and IRF inspections of all architectural works, including finishes, waterproofing, roofing, and façade systems etc., to ensure workmanship and materials meet the required standards.
- Verify that the contractor’s work is a detailed execution of the approved architectural drawings and contract specifications.
- Identifying and reporting any defects, non-conformities, or deviations from the approved plans.
- Responsible for identifying the defect lists and carrying IRF inspection for the rectification works until satisfactorily completed.
- Ensuring the contractor’s work adhere to the relevant safety regulations and codes of practices as stipulated by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
Requirements
- Diploma in Architecture, Building Technology or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- At least 5 years of relevant full-time site supervision experience who have worked on similar projects i.e., large infrastructure projects or waste/water management projects in Singapore.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex architectural and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Singapore.
- Familiarity with the construction methods, materials, and quality assurance systems.
- Competency in MS Office.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively report issues and coordinate with teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address on site challenges efficiently.
