Qualifications

• Must have completed basic specialist training and have a recognized postgraduate qualification.
• Must be registered with the Singapore Medical Council.
• Experience supervising and teaching House Officers, Medical Officers and Trainees.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ward supervision and day-to-day patient care, with strong diagnostic and clinical management skills.
• Supervise and teach House Officers, Medical Officers and Trainees.
• See cold referrals not referred to a consultant by name; respond to urgent referrals on night duty.
• Inform the on-call Consultant of difficult or complex cases admitted or referred for opinion.
• Attend/witness departmental ward rounds, seminars, and conferences.
• Carry out elective and emergency operations in surgical disciplines as permitted by senior staff.
